Connecting Community - Creating a Legacy
What We Do
The Gilchrist Family Foundation was established to support learning and literacy, champion sport and play, connect communities and families, and promote health and positive well-being.
Our family believes that learning and sport have played key roles in our personal development and we want to share that with our community. We want to ensure that children and their families have opportunities to play and connect with each other. We believe that building long-term physical and mental well-being are central to successfully achieving goals.
Who We Are
The Foundation was established by John and Lisa Gilchrist in 2020 as way to give back to the community. Our family has been active in sports as athletes, coaches, and volunteers; we have felt the power that comes from being physically and mentally strong. We know the importance of an active lifestyle and spending time in nature. We are avid readers and learners who know that literacy opens doors and creates opportunities. Through our extensive volunteer work, we have seen the postive impacts that happen when families connect with one another in a community which values physical and mental well-being.
We live in rural Parkland County, west of Stony Plain, Alberta with family in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta and Kamloops, British Columbia. Our support is primarily focussed on those areas and areas where we travel or work.
A portion of revenue from Lisa Gilchrist Consulting Inc. goes towards the Foundation to support long-term growth.
Examples of our past volunteer work and philantrophic support include: Adult Learning and Literacy, Ducks Unlimited, Tri-Community Health and Wellness Foundation, Rotary Run for Life, Kinsmen Christmas Hamper program, Community and Economic Development initiatives, housing for veterans and seniors, and KidSport Parkland.
Thank you for contributing to the Foundation. We appreciate your support.
